## Recommended PCP starter setup (Beginner, England)
**Rifle:** a **sub‑12 ft·lbf PCP** in **.177** (best for targets and learning).
**Action:** consider a **multi-shot** with a magazine, but keep a **single-shot tray** for slow practice.
**Filling:**
- Start with a **hand pump** if you want the lowest cost (more effort).
- Choose a **dive bottle** (with the right valve/hose) if you want convenience and lots of refills.
**Optics:** a simple **3–9x or 4–12x scope** plus solid mounts; set up for a comfortable cheek weld.
**Pellets:** buy 2–3 quality types (domed pellets are a good baseline) and keep the one that groups best.
**Must-haves:**
- **Gun bag/case** (unloaded, for transport)
- **Pellet trap / safe backstop**
- **Eye protection**
- **Spare O-rings** for your fill probe and a small silicone cloth for wiping down metalwork
**First practice plan:** zero at **10m** to get on paper, then confirm at **25–30m** with 5-shot groups.
If you tell me your budget (e.g., **£300 / £600 / £1,000+**) and whether you’ll be shooting **garden** or **club**, I’ll refine this into a specific “what to buy first” checklist for your blog.
